Who We Are and Why We Serve

The Our Lady of Guadalupe Tagakaulo Mission is a community of missionary disciples walking together with the Tagakaulo people in faith, education, and hope.
Rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, inspired by the loving example of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and entrusted to the pastoral stewardship of the Missionaries of Jesus, we are called to proclaim God's love through accompaniment, education, and compassionate service.
Everything we do begins with relationships—with God, with one another, and with the people whom we are privileged to accompany.
"I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly." — John 10:10
A Mission of Presence, Accompaniment, and Hope

The Our Lady of Guadalupe Tagakaulo Mission is a Roman Catholic mission of the Diocese of Digos, entrusted to the pastoral stewardship of the Missionaries of Jesus.
Our identity is rooted in accompaniment. We strive to become a Church that listens before speaking, walks before leading, and builds relationships before programs. Inspired by Christ's own example, we journey with the Tagakaulo people in a spirit of humility, mutual respect, and shared discipleship.
We believe that every person is created in the image and likeness of God, every culture reflects the beauty of His creative love, and every encounter is an opportunity to reveal His presence.
Did You Know?
The Our Lady of Guadalupe Tagakaulo Mission was formerly known as the Malita Tagakaulo Mission (MATAMIS). While its name has changed over the years, its commitment to accompanying the Tagakaulo people in faith and service has remained steadfast.

The Principles That Guide Our Journey
We envision vibrant Tagakaulo communities where faith is deeply rooted in Christ, culture is treasured as a gift from God, families flourish in dignity and hope, and every person is empowered to participate fully in the life and mission of the Church.
Inspired by the Gospel and guided by Our Lady of Guadalupe, we dream of communities where education nurtures both wisdom and character, where leadership grows from within, and where future generations continue to proclaim Christ while preserving the richness of their Indigenous heritage.

Our Vision
Our Mission
Every mission is sustained by convictions that shape its purpose, inspire its service, and guide its decisions. At the Our Lady of Guadalupe Tagakaulo Mission, these convictions are rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, nourished by the teachings of the Catholic Church, and lived through our shared journey with the Tagakaulo people. They remind us not only of what we hope to accomplish, but more importantly, of who God calls us to become as His missionary disciples.
The Our Lady of Guadalupe Tagakaulo Mission exists to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ by walking alongside the Tagakaulo people in a spirit of humble accompaniment, mutual respect, and shared discipleship.
Through pastoral ministry, culturally responsive Indigenous Peoples Education, leadership formation, and compassionate service, we seek to build communities where faith is lived, culture is honored, and every person is given the opportunity to grow in dignity, wisdom, and hope.
Recognizing that God is already at work within every culture and community, we strive not only to serve but to journey together as companions in Christ, bearing witness to His love through relationships rooted in communion and trust.
Jesus Christ is the source, purpose, and heart of everything we do. Every ministry, relationship, and decision flows from our desire to know Him more deeply and make His love visible in the world.

Christ at the Center
Our Core Values

Missionary Accompaniment
Human Dignity
Respect for Indigenous Culture
We believe authentic mission begins by listening, walking with people, and sharing their joys, hopes, struggles, and aspirations.
Every person is created in the image and likeness of God and deserves to be treated with love, respect, justice, and compassion.
We honor the rich cultural heritage, language, traditions, and Indigenous wisdom of the Tagakaulo people as precious gifts that enrich both the Church and society.

Communion
Stewardship
Compassionate Service
Hope
Mission is never the work of one person alone. We journey together as one family of God, united in prayer, service, and shared responsibility.
We gratefully receive God's gifts and faithfully use our time, talents, resources, and the beauty of creation for the common good.
We respond to human needs with humility, generosity, and mercy, always seeking to reveal the compassionate face of Christ.
Even amid challenges, we remain confident in God's promises, trusting that His grace continues to renew lives, strengthen communities, and guide our shared mission.
Faith Lived Through Everyday Witness

The mission's identity is expressed not only in words but in the lives of those who serve and those who are served.
Meet a missionary, teacher, catechist, or Tagakaulo family whose story reveals what it means to live the Gospel through humble accompaniment.
Walking Together as Friends and Disciples of Jesus

The missionary spirit of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Tagakaulo Mission is deeply inspired by the charism of the Missionaries of Jesus. We believe that authentic mission begins not with strategies or structures, but with friendship, encounter, and a willingness to walk alongside others as Christ Himself walked with His disciples.
This spirit invites us to listen before speaking, to accompany rather than dominate, to build bridges instead of walls, and to recognize God's presence already at work within every community.
It is a spirituality that calls us to proclaim the Gospel not only through words, but through lives of simplicity, compassion, and joyful service.
Mission Reflection
"Authentic mission is measured not by how far we travel, but by how deeply we accompany the people whom God entrusts to our care."
