Forming Minds, Nurturing Hearts, Honoring Cultrue
Education is one of the most enduring expressions of our mission.
Born from the desire to make learning accessible to children in remote Indigenous communities, the Indigenous Peoples Education Ministry continues to provide a Catholic education that nurtures the whole person—mind, heart, and spirit.
By integrating the national curriculum with the rich heritage, traditions, and identity of the Tagakaulo people, we seek to form young people who grow in knowledge, deepen their faith, and take pride in the culture that shapes who they are.
"Let the little children come to me." — Mark 10:14
The Indigenous Peoples Education Ministry began with a simple conviction: every child deserves access to quality education without being separated from their family, community, or cultural identity.
For many Tagakaulo children, reaching distant schools meant long walks across mountains and rivers, often making education difficult or inaccessible. In response, the mission established schools within the communities themselves, bringing education closer to home while ensuring that learning remained rooted in faith, dignity, and respect for Indigenous culture.
Today, our schools continue to form learners who are academically prepared, spiritually grounded, and deeply connected to their heritage.
